The workshop

About

A childhood attraction to stones, turned into a collection of pearls.

From childhood, Jean-Marc Gasnier’s attraction to stones of all kinds, fine and precious, was plain to see. As an adult, his interest in creating a unique piece of jewellery led him to discover the world of fine jewellery, and above all cultured and natural pearls.

Baroque, keshi and other pearls fascinate by their uniqueness, their infinite variety of shapes, a silky surface of iridescent nacre and countless subtle shades of colour. That is how the ama collection was born.

Each piece is, by definition, unique.

The work

Each bracelet, each necklace is set individually. Selecting the pearls comes before the drawing: the setting is designed for them, never the other way round. A sold piece leaves the catalogue and is not reproduced.

The workshop journal documents this process over the months — selecting pearls, setting, finished pieces.
